THE SLUG FINGER
Lily Shaul
A girl kills a slug causing her finger to transform into it. She's horrified. After revealing her secret while on a date she takes drastic action to get rid of it but can't go through with it. Instead she has to try and learn to love and care for it.
This is one of the most simple, yet effective, animated shorts I’ve ever seen. I definitely didn’t want a slug finger, but I did have an unexpected emotional moment regarding a slimy invertebrate. Bravo! — Natasha Lewin (Programmer)

DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY
I am an animator and illustrator based in London. My work focuses on telling stories through the use of humour, creating engaging and relatable narratives about important issues. I combine handmade and digital techniques in my work, utilising the tactility of real materials and enhancing them through digital processes. I loves including tiny details in my animations, which despite only being on screen for a matter of seconds, create rich visual worlds. Animation allows me to populate impossible worlds with odd and intriguing characters, bringing my drawings and puppets to life as they move on screen.
