Honorable Mention, Comedy

ESTHER

Rebecca Halfon

With her bat mitzvah days away, Esther is about to become a woman. With her braces finally off, she’s starting to feel like one, too. It’s no surprise when her cringy attempt at seducing her Hebrew tutor doesn’t go as planned, but we love her anyway.

Loved this. I’m a sucker for a coming-of-age story and this totally captured what it is like being a 13 year old girl. It was both cringe worthy and charming the whole way through. Rebecca Halfon knows how to perfectly let you sit in all the awkwardness! — Becky M (Festival Director)
